Meet Linda

LindaSharpPhotoLinda has been creating since childhood but her love affair with decorative painting began when a friend introduced her to this art form in 1980. Since then she has taken classes and studied with some of the best teachers in the industry, always striving to better her skills. Linda began teaching around her kitchen table in 1982. Designing and creating art work using traditional folk art techniques coupled with her love of flowers provides inspiration as she paints stroke work with a contemporary flair.  Acrylics are her medium of choice but she enjoys dabbling in oils, experimenting with watercolor and batik, color pencils as well as creating with pen and ink. There is always something new to learn and try in the world of art! Her work has been published in PaintWorks, Quick and Easy Painting, the Decorative Painter, Art Apprentice Online E-zine and most recently in the Interactive Artists Magazine. Her pattern packets can be found here on her website and at Bear with Us, Inc.

Linda is an active member of the Society of Decorative Painters and has served two terms as a Board Member at Large and currently serves as Recording Secretary. She is a member of Silver State Tole And Decorative Painters in Las Vegas and Northern California Decorative Artists where she has served as President and Treasurer. She earned her Certified Decorative Artist in 2007 and has passed the Master Stroke in 2010 and Master Floral  2014 as she continues to study and work towards achieving her goal of becoming Master Decorative Artist. She is a DecoArt Helping Artist and a Craft and Hobby Association Designer.

Linda loves to teach, sharing her passion and the joy of painting with students, other artists and her community. She believes anyone can learn to paint if there is a desire to learn and practice. Linda teaches workshops for chapters as well as regional and national conventions all over the country.

Linda and husband Ron recently moved to Las Vegas. Ron is her biggest fan and supporter. She is the proud mother of three grown children and four beautiful grandchildren. When she is not painting, she loves spending time with her grandchildren and family.
